Nothing more than a sphere resting, in an apparently impossible balance, on a cone that acts as a base. One of the many compositional magics of Gio Ponti, designed in 1932. The juxtaposition of two elementary geometric shapes gives rise to an original object with perfect proportions. A simple composition that is enriched thanks to the extraordinary balance of the proportions and the discreet elegance of the non-reflecting materials. The light is diffused and the light emission is enhanced by the geometric simplicity of the design. In designing Bilia, Gio Ponti imagined a smaller-scale version with a range of "spray colours". From those handwritten notes of the original project, FontanaArte presents Bilia Mini in breathtaking new color variations.
